German comic Karl Valentin had a bit about a man who dreamt he was a duck but complains that he was woken up before he could eat a worm. It’s pure coincidence that International Music’s second album is called Ententraum (Duck Dream) but it’s a nice one. And lucky for us, nobody woke Peter Rubel, Pedro Goncalves Crescenti and Joel Roters up while they were dreaming up their hour-long psychedelic rock trip.

Wenn ich wüsste, was in dieser Kiste ist, küsste ich Dich, den Fürst von Metternich.“ (If I knew what is in this box, I would kiss you, Prince von Metternich): And with these lines, the journey through a 17-song duck dream epic begins. The music sounds as if the Beatles had looked for inspiration for their White Album not only in India but also from a Scottish bagpiper virtuoso. Needless to say, we’re in for a quite the trip.
