All I want for Christmas is… Things you can wrap

Tearing open the wrapping = instant gratification

This holiday season we’ll have to do without large family gatherings and partying with friends. But that’s no reason to give up on spoiling those we love and miss. Between colleagues we’ve been talking about ways to do just that and we want to share our ideas with you.

Yes, we said that getting experiences as a gift makes people happier. And besides, the over-commercialised side of Christmas is just wrong. However, for the giver nothing equals the instant gratification of seeing someone’s eyes sparkle with joy as they tear open the wrapping.

Mindfulness

Véronique, our PR officer, recommends Ein guter Plan, a holistic calendar to learn how to live consciously and manage daily stress. Claire, our volunteer receptionist, suggests an illustrated book, A Sloth’s Guide to Mindfulness, for a more fun approach to the concept.

Common sense

It’s an idea that has yet to take off, but there’s absolutely no harm in offering second-hand items. For clothes and accessories, Maxine, the performing arts department’s assistant, recommends going to Pilea and following pardonmycloset on social media to know when their next sale is on. For furniture, Claire, our graphic designer, recommends Nei Aarbecht’s Facebook page. For books and games, Julie insists that the Ramd’Âm shop (in Namur…) is a must.

Stylish

For friends who have spent too much time at home and want a change of scenery, Joëlle has a lead. No one needs a vase but everyone needs feminism,” says Joëlle. So it’s totally OK to want this very girl power vase.

They’re beautiful, they’re collector’s items and they’re only available at Rotondes: our serigraphy prints! Only 30 copies are printed of each, all are numbered and signed. Take a tour of our Gift Shop to see the whole series and make your choice.
