Blanck Mass is a British electronic solo project by Benjamin John Power, one of the founding members of drone band Fuck Buttons. Blanck Mass’ musical style has been described as drone music, post-rock, electronic and experimental. On World Eater, his thrid album as Blanck Mass, Power has has made a reactionary and representative record of a year teeming with anger, violence, confusion and frustration. World Eater is a reference to both the inner beast inside human beings that when grouped en-masse stops us from moving forward towards good, and a reference to human beings themselves and their place on the planet.” He says of the inner and outward consuming beast. The beast is highly territorial and violent. It is very clear to me that the beast remains an ever-growing presence and threat. We have to understand and control the beast before we turn the world inside out and destroy it.” Whilst World Eater, with all its vitality and grip, might be a record intent as a reaction to the mass, squealing hysteria and unpredictability of 2016 and certainly possesses some of its mania and pummelling intensity sonically, it’s a record that goes deeper beyond simple rage, and Power has used this opportunity to slim down his palate for this record, intentionally using a restricted set of tools, gear fetishism being of no interest to him.

A vapor-synth-wave journey, Ryvage is an electronic escapade that began in early 2017 by Luxembourg based musician Samuel Reinard. Produced in isolation and driven by the love of contrasts, versatile, cinematographic and emotional, it is an intense ride of ethereal synth-scapes, beat driven walls of sounds and processed vocals. Ryvage explores the fine line between harmony and chaos by experimenting with musical references from the sci-fi genre, self-made field-recordings, industrial sounds & dance music structures.
For his first ever show on 10 May, Ryvage will play a live set composed of unreleased tracks and songs.
