After writing and playing with The Magic Roundabout in New Zealand (1985−1990) I formed the band June Frost in Edinburgh, Scotland. I went on to record four albums with them (1993 ‑1999) and a further two with my solo project, this time based in France. Since 2004 I have been working with the very talented group Microclimate to put together a live set that is both subtle and powerful, mixing acoustic and electric instruments, technology and melodicas, wistful playfulness and hellbent grimace-fueled hypnotic mandolin thrash-fests. The culmination of this work is the new album 2+2=22 which is finally available. Recorded in a very nice big studio, with lots of buttons, little flashing lights and big loops of tape spooling around, it really does sounds rather good. It is also complemented by some beautiful artwork by the renowned artist Jean-Christophe Massinon.
