Konzert / Indie & Rock Spokes

SPOKES hail from North East England where since 2006, they have been crafting their reverb-soaked, violin-coated sound. On top of that they have developed a taste for ​“dirty sounds”. I’ll explain: they would rather much favour field recordings to crisp, clean expensive mixing. This has been documented on their mini album, ​“People Like People Like You”. From euphoric noise to moments of intense stillness, there is not much that Spokes doesn’t touch on emotionally, keeping nonetheless a distinctive sound palette. Ninja Tune, more known to tap in the electronic genre, has had an eye on the band for awhile, experiencing the frenzy it caused when playing live. That mixed with a total disinterest in trendiness has made Spokes the strongest contestant among the rookies in 2009. If you like your shoegaze mixed with intricate vocal harmonies, Spokes should already be on your radar. Their latest album is called ​“Everyone I Ever Met”. Bye Miaow Miaow, welcome MOUNT STEALTH. The idea was to make something new with old material. When we say ​“new”, we mean something that is exciting in music, cross-genre, fresh and foreward thinking. When we say ​“old”, we simply mean vets of the local indie scene, that have been there, done that. Mount Stealth aims high, and so do the groups they look up to (Foals, Maserati, DJ Shadow, Battles…), without ever losing touch with a key element which is the groove.
