The 32-year-old Luxembourg native, Richard Heinemann has quickly carved out his very personal niche in the local music scene under the moniker T M I aka The Main Ingredient, serving its listeners the finest bassy electronic music, be it house, minimal or UK funky. When he is not rocking a crowd at his Upstairs/Downstairs” or Front room/Back room” gigs, he also hosts his weekly TMI radio show. Constantly on the look for the latest trends and future club classics, TMI is the to-go guy when it comes to non-diluted, traditional yet progressive dance culture. Nowadays based in Luxembourg, SENSU has for years been one of the underground DJ’s of Brussels. He is a frequent meakusma collaborator as a DJ and writer, a member of the Black WigWam DJ collective and co-runs the electronic music label Testtoon records. He has furthermore organized and co-organized a slur of parties and concerts, often bringing artists to Belgium for the first time. Inspired by the über-positive documentary film (by Khashyar Darvich) of the same title, DALAI LAMA RENAISSANCE is Brussels based electronic trio signed on Kompakt/Dandelion Lotus.
Out of the first rehearsal sessions came nothing concrete song-wise; they learned the basics of electronic sound.
Things started to get a lot more efficient when one of the members, J., started assembling their own analog/digital minded studio in the early summer of 2009. They then moved from the dark, chaotic city life of Brussels to the green and quiet landscapes of Vollezele. The change of environment, music software and instruments boosted their creative impulses and they felt confident enough to take this music thing to another level. The result is found on their Don’t Be Scared” LP. Hypnotic downtempo and warm low-pitched vocal samples are NAPOLEON GOLDs favourite tools when producing his ambient electronic tracks. Before having found his own style and his way around music production softwares, the 22 years old producer took part in bands such as Lumi or Back To Fitzgerald, for which he played guitar and drums. After having done a few remixes, such as It’s Like Monday But It’s Not” for Sun Glitters (to be released on LebenStrasse Records in july), he is now preparing an album for September. Born in 1990, Belgian artist KARA CEY started to experiment with computer software and tape loops, after years of playing the piano.
KARA CEY’s focus of attention lies on pure feelings that are buried” in the soul or forgotten and he believes these feelings can be brought back to the surface through art” (especially music).
