After four years of incremental musical evolution, Vessels emerge into the light with a brave and brilliant new sound, masterfully fusing the widescreen builds and elegant breakdowns of their previous work with altogether more physical electronic rhythms. Always a consummate live act, recent performances have been an unholy communion, two drummers front and centre, band and audience feeding off each other’s energy.
Vessels have graced stages at legendary Berlin techno club Berghain, Beat Herder, Beacons, Glastonbury and Simple Things. Like Jon Hopkins, Moderat and Caribou before them, the band have pulled off the trick of translating their intricate, sometimes epic, always uplifting studio creations to the live arena. The world is theirs for the taking.
Mr Bios is the solo project of Christophe Biache, an active member of label Chez.Kito.Kat and former musician part of duo Binary & Dyslexic and Komparce. Mr Bios started out as a DJ in the mid-90s. This experience naturally led him to start composing his own tracks, swapping on the occasion his turntables for analogue synthesizers. At the boundaries of ambient, electro dub and minimal techno, mr bios imagines a rich and subtle music, combining synthetic strings, analogue bass and percussive groove. After a first EP out in 2011, the second opus of Mr Bios will be available as a digital and vinyl release.
