BOT’OX, or Julien Briffaz and Benjamin Boguet, the half of Tekel and the whole of Cosmo Vitelli. Expect some synthesizers, effects emulators bringing lucid melodies and blistering rythms to the roughest sounds for a tangible and sensorial experience. Bot’ox have already four Maxi singles, on four essential labels (DFA, I’m a Cliché, DC Recordings, Marketing). Fed on a diet of their parent’s old vinyl collection and fascinated since a young age by the atmosphere created by films, the brothers Charles and Max Nilles decided to create the electro band ARTABAN in 2006. Thanks to internet, which opened the door of several concert venues, this luxembourgish duo carved themselves a place in the small luxembourgish electro scene in sharing the stage with bands like Apparat, Modeselektor, M83 and Sébastien Tellier. Their music could be defined as a cross between Röyksopp and Boards of Canada.
Their first album entitled Landscapes” was released in october 2008. METRO is an indie-rockband from tiny Luxembourg in the heart of Europe. The band released their epononymous debut album in 2006 to critical acclaim in the region. Since then their sound developped and in late 2007, the band was joined by Yves Stephany on bass, synths and backing vocals. Over the last years METRO has shared the stage with popular acts such as IAMX, Franz Ferdinand, Maximo Park, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, The Wedding Present, Maserati or The Rakes. METRO also played a lot of local and international festivals and has been invited to the prestigious Eurosonic Festival in Groningen (Netherlands) and to the Berlin Popkomm.
Some METRO-songs were chosen for soundtracks of movies (like She Went Under in Inthierryview” by Andy Bausch or No Star in No Star” by ChristianNeumann). Another song was used in a tv ad. Loads of Tracks have been featured on national and international compilations. The single She Went Under became a number-one-hit in Luxembourg and stayed for months in the national airplay charts.
The 5 brand new tracks from the forthcoming METRO-EP go from powerful new wave, through electro sentimentality right to basic garage’n’roll.
