HUDSON MOHAWKE is the man of the hour, and dirty beats are his trade.
HUDSON MOHAWKE, aka Hud Mo, started out as a young bedroom producer in Glasgow, Scotland, a town known for every music bar rap. He had no idea that his indulgence in hip-hop, hardcore, techno, prog, fusion, and electro would capture so much attention. In 2007, he was announced by Steve Beckett as the latest signing to Warp records. Since then, he’s been playing some excellent parties, and working on an LP due for 2009. Fed on a diet of their parent’s old vinyl collection and fascinated since a young age by the atmosphere created by films, the brothers Charles and Max Nilles decided to create the electro band ARTABAN in 2006. Thanks to internet, which opened the door of several concert venues, this luxembourgish duo carved themselves a place in the small luxembourgish electro scene in sharing the stage with bands like Apparat, Modeselektor, M83 and Sébastien Tellier. Their music could be defined as a cross between Röyksopp and Boards of Canada.
Their first album entitled “Landscapes” was released in october 2008.
