Jana Horn is an American songwriter whose work traces the quiet edges of experience with rare precision. On her self-titled third album (out in January 2026), she sharpens her minimalist language to its most elemental form.
Recorded essentially as a trio with Adam Jones and Jade Guterman – how the New York-based band performs – the ten-song album has Horn’s spoken-sung, stark vocals in useful conflict with the melodic, earworm quality of Guterman’s bass, and Jones’ jazz and punk-influenced approach to drums, while clarinetist/flutist Adelyn Strei and pianist Miles Hewitt add ghost-tones and grounding figures. This third iteration from Horn reveals the artist at perhaps her most distilled and resourceful, hitting on a feeling with a touch.
