Liverpool duo Hannah Merrick and Craig Whittle, a.k.a. King Hannah, make music that lives somewhere between the gorgeously meditative pop of Yo La Tengo and the beautiful drama of Sharon Van Etten.

We didn’t want [our debut] album to just be a collection of songs,” the band told The Fader. We wanted it to flow and tell its own story.” With its dozen songs full of darkness and wit, I’m Not Sorry, I Was Just Being Me – at once a humble clarification and a stubborn challenge – not only sums up the duo’s single-minded vision and their determination to remain true to themselves, but also offers a glimpse of the wry, knowing humour lurking in the shadows of the record.

« King Hannah’s skill is to gather tremendous energies, without resorting to simple resolutions. »

Amsterdam-based Belgian singer-songwriter and visual artist Camille Camille started singing at a very young age and learned her first guitar chords form her mother at the age of 12. She’s been creating music and paving her own way ever since. She developed her vocal skills in the street, which also taught her the importance of an honest and genuine approach to connect with the audience. Some precious insight that she now takes with her every time she goes on stage.
