As part of the Empowering Creative Minds (ECM) project Artwem Methodology | Visual Artist: Walid El Masri

Different Mirrors is a unique artistic workshop, born from a deeply human research journey conducted across Germany, Poland, Ukraine, and Luxembourg.

Visual artist Walid El Masri designed this workshop as part of the European project Empowering Creative Minds. It is more than just a creative space: it is a place to connect with oneself, a safe and welcoming environment where difference becomes a language, and every artistic gesture becomes a step towards freedom of expression.

How does it work?

Across four sessions of three hours each, designed as a gradual and supportive journey, participants are invited to explore a variety of techniques, e.g. charcoal, watercolour, acrylic, pastel. No prior artistic experience is required. The workshop is open to everyone, confirmed artists and beginners alike.

Each session begins with sensory release exercises, creating space to let go of the pressures of daily life and allow authentic expression to emerge. Gradually, personal emotions and stories transform into visual symbols, a universal language that transcends words and borders.

Some of the outcomes created during this workshop will be displayed as part of a travelling exhibition connecting Luxembourg, Berlin, and Lublin, as a living testament to the human capacity to reinvent oneself and to create, regardless of circumstance.
