BEAK> is a super trio hailing from Bristol consisting of Billy Fuller (Fuzz Against Funk), Matt Williams (Team Brick) and Geoff Barrow (Portishead, founder of the Invada label). The group was born in 2009. Their first record was recorded live in one room without any pro Tools editing, during a 12 day-session. The second LP, “»” came out in July 2012.
All they need to create magic: a bass, a drum kit and some keyboards. It’s minimalistic, but what a ride: Prog rhythms à la NEU! clash with dub noisy soundscapes à la Jah Wobble / P.I.L. while maintaining the new wave aesthetic the whole way through.
