Formerly known as liquidbrainproductions, loose body parts is the brainchild of serial multi-tasker Tim Lecomte (musician, Dj, photographer, remixer, producer and film maker). Recently, Tim also made a name for himself as a member and co-initiator of Brach, a project/concept album collaboration between loose body parts, project m and Luxembourg rappers De Läb.
Although resolutely hip hop in spirit, loose body parts’ sound finds inspiration in a multitude of genres, ranging from psychedelic rock to klezmer. It is precisely this refusal to be bound by convention or boxed in by strict musical categories, which makes loose body parts’s take on hip hop so unique and engaging. It also makes him the ideal remixer. Much like his own body of work, loose body parts deliberately takes other people’s tracks into surprising and unintended directions. From Kuston Beater and Gospel Emcee in 2005 to Metro, Hal Flavin, De Läb, and Sun Glitters in 2011, loose body parts manages to draw out facets of an artist’s music that often lay hidden to these artists themselves.
