Concert / Krautrock & Disco Zombie zombie

With ZOMBIE ZOMBIE we have living proof that there is more to quality electronic music than just a succession of loops and clicks. Who knew that kids could still get amped by the sound of the theremin? Cosmic Neman (also a member of the french act Herman Dune) and Etienne Jaumet (keyboards and analog effects) have formed the group, not only to showcase their nerdiness in all things 70’s krautrock and Italian horror flicks soundtracks, but also to open doors (like zombies open graves). Listening to ZOMBIE ZOMBIE, one imagines that the two have spent days locked in a basement, studying the music of Can, Neu!, Goblin and John Carpenter, learning by heart the liner notes. Once that was digested, they broke free, went out to see gigs by Para One and Turzi. On stage, the best of both worlds gets displayed as the two combine progressive key changes and improv with wild rave-like dance performances. Here and there, you might hear one of them scream and shout something as if wanting to awake the dead.
For its latest single taken of the upcoming LP, Rituels d’un Nouveau Monde”, the duo chose a cover of Sun Ra’s Rocket Number 9”. ZOMBIE ZOMBIE released one album of original material, A Land For Renegades” (2008) and a tribute LP, ZOMBIE ZOMBIE Plays John Carpenter” (2010).
