Formed in San Francisco, Deafheaven consists of vocalist George Clarke, guitarists Kerry McCoy and Shiv Mehra, bassist Christopher Johnson, and drummer Daniel Tracy. The band gained widespread acclaim with their groundbreaking 2013 album, Sunbather, which effectively redefined the margins of heavy music. Over a decade later, Rolling Stone described their sixth studio album, Lonely People With Power (2025), as “ragingly beautiful” – cementing their status as one of the most consistent and transformative forces in modern heavy music.
